An introduction to Iceland

A small Nordic country in the north Atlantic ocean. With only a population of 360,000 makes Iceland the most sparsely populated country in Europe. But boy does this country pack a punch with places to see. Bucket list destinations, getting close to the power of nature and an overabundance of natural phenomena. Iceland is truly the destination of dreams.

Here’s my trip of visiting this magnificent country…..We decided to visit in September as it had plenty of daylight hours. Also it was the shoulder season so it was a little less busy and slightly cheaper. So we started in the capital Reykjavik, which is only a 3 hour flight from London. Hired a car and drove the main ring road around the country. I decided to go clockwise round the ring road, which meant we got the north done first before the weather changed. Turns out most people did it anticlockwise!

I broke the trip down into different sections so read about my trip here.
